What the AI actually does
- Recognises food from photos. Point the camera at a fridge shelf, a pantry, a receipt or a barcode and the app identifies products and where they are stored. You review the result before it is saved.
- Keeps a living inventory. Your “Food Twin” is a picture of the kitchen that updates as you shop and cook.
- Suggests meals with a reason. Suggestions weigh what you have, what is expiring, your household's tastes and time available, and always explain why.
- Plans the week. The meal planner varies ingredients and meal types, plans leftovers and fills a shared shopping list with only what is missing.
What it does not do
AI can misread a label, miss an item at the back of the shelf or guess a wrong expiry date. That is why every scan is reviewed by you before it is saved, and why suggestions are guidance rather than decisions. Recipe and allergy filters are not a guarantee; nutrition values are estimates for planning, not medical advice. Cibello never judges what or how much you eat and does not use shame as a motivator.
Your data and the AI
Images are analysed to recognise food. Cibello's own models are trained only on your corrections and, if you separately opt in, on sanitised images; both options are off by default. Data is stored in the EU, you can see what is stored and delete your account in the app at any time. Details are in the privacy policy.
Why start from the kitchen
A plan that ignores what you own creates waste and long shopping trips. Starting from the inventory means fewer purchases, food used before it spoils and less deciding. If you mostly want tonight solved, see what to eat tonight; if you want the inventory itself, see the pantry app.

Can the AI make mistakes?
Yes. Scanning can misread or miss items, so you review results before saving. Suggestions are guidance, not decisions.
Does the AI train on my photos?
Only on your corrections by default. Training on sanitised images is a separate opt-in that is off unless you enable it.
